Solution: We want to look for things that each of the two terms have in common. Firstly, they both have a factor of 4. Secondly, the both have a factor of f. That means we can take out a factor of 4fg, and then remove the appropriate parts from each term accordingly.

Doing this, we get

8fg+4fg=4f\left(2g + 1\right)
