Question: Use the bus stop method work out the following:

𝑎) 768 ÷8

𝑏) 330 ÷6

𝑐) 1134 ÷9

 

a) To do the bus stop method, we first draw our “bus stop” with 768 on the inside and 8 on the outside. Then, we will ask “how many times does 8 go into each digit?”, or if there is a remainder from the previous go, we form a new number by putting the remainder in front of the next digit, and we ask, “how many times does 8 go into this new number?”

b) To do the bus stop method, we first draw our “bus stop” with 330 on the inside and 6 on the outside. Then, we will ask “how many times does 6 go into each digit?”, or if there is a remainder from the previous go, we form a new number by putting the remainder in front of the next digit, and we ask, “how many times does 6 go into this new number?”
