Calculate the area of the sector below correct to 4 significant figures. A=θ/360 πr2

Worked Solution:

Use the formula for finding the area of a sector A=θ/360 πr2

Substitute the values into the equation:

A=θ/360 πr2=  72/360×π×8.82

A=15.488 ×π=48.65698702

A=48.66 cm2 (to 4 s.f.)
