Example:

Calculate 4√11×√3+√33-2√33

Worked Solution:

Using BIDMAS (for more information please refer to “Order of Operation” tutorial), and the formulae m√a×n√b≡=(m×n) √(a×b)≡(mn) √ab and m√a±n√a≡(m±n) √a , multiply the expression and then simplify:

4√11×√3+√33-2√33=4√(11×3)+√33-2√33=4√33+√33-2√33

=(4+1-2) √33=3√33
