Part 17 – Surd rule for division inside a square root II

Example:

Write 3/2 √(7/13) in the form (m√a)/(n√b)

Worked Solution:

Use the rule m/n √(a/b)=m/n×√a/√b=(m√a)/(n√b)

3/2 √(7/13)=3/2×√7/√13=(3√7)/(2√13)

Your turn:

Write \frac{2}{19} \sqrt{\frac{17}{2}}  in the form \frac{m\sqrt{a}}{n\sqrt{b}}

Find the value of a and b.

Enter your answer here:
a =
b =
